As soon as you close on your new home, make sure that all exterior locks are changed and all the doors and windows are secured properly. Number six, add a security bar on the sliding doors because that's very strong and it will be hard to open from the outside. Number seven, trim the shrubs near the home because a lot of time the burglars can hide over there. So you want to make it more visible if somebody is hiding.
Number eight, install motion detector lights, especially on the side of the home and the back of the home where it gets darker. When someone passes by the lights illuminate and you can see that area. And number nine, consider adding a home alarm system. It is very, very convenient. Don't do that after the incident happens. Do it now, when you are safe.
